Testimonials about Tyrnog Racing Yard
Tim Marlow - Young Parson
"I purchased my first racehorse, Young Parson, in 1990. Being keen to get involved in the training of the horse, I started to ride out with the string of racehorses at Y Wern shortly thereafter. Although 40 years of age, that initial experience, and the encouragement of the Owen family, led me to apply for an amateur jump jockey licence. It was a
Jockey Club requirement that I compete in point-to-points and I began race riding in 1992. The care and facilities given to my horses during this time were excellent. The country around Y Wern is probably some of the best in the UK for training horses, being a mix of country lanes and mountain slopes. Results speak for themselves, and my horses were regularly in the winners' enclosure. It is a great and unique experience to be involved in both the training and race-riding of your own horses!
I must wholeheartedly thank Raymond Owen for all of the support and painstaking attention given to the preparation of the horses, ( and the jockey! ), and I can recommend him as an experienced and successful trainer to all racehorse owners wishing to race in point-to points and hunter chases."
